With more than 500 curved, custom-molded Douglas Fir panels, the Sunnyvale Civic Center is a masterpiece of ISEC craftsmanship. The project was a new construction to replace Sunnyvale’s 52-year-old civic center.

To achieve a seamless fit, each panel had to be hand-shaped, and the frame had to be 3D scanned to ensure every unique panel fit perfectly. The staircase stands over four stories tall and took over 5,000 carpenter hours to install.

The end product is a nice combination of both old-school construction and modern 3D modeling technology coming together to create something that feels more like a piece of art than just a functional building element.
