As part of the Irving R. Newhouse Building Replacement Project, ISEC delivered custom architectural woodwork that seamlessly integrated the capitol campus’s historic materials into a modern interior. ISEC managed the coordination and execution required to blend reclaimed and new elements, transforming salvaged materials from the original structures into feature walls, benches, waiting area elements, and meeting room wall paneling.
Working within a scope that balanced reclaimed and new materials based on availability, ISEC ensured each material was thoughtfully applied to its best use. Rare Wilkeson sandstone, old growth Douglas fir, and original glass panels were successfully reintroduced, demonstrating ISEC’s expertise in delivering cohesive, high-quality spaces that honor architectural legacy while meeting contemporary design goals.
