ISEC received the 2026 Washington Building Congress Craftsmanship Award for outstanding Architectural Millwork on the Virginia Tech Innovation Building. The project highlights one of ISEC’s most complex millwork deliveries, anchored by a 3,000‑square‑foot monumental stair and 7,500 square feet of acoustical ceiling and feature wall. Additional scope included quartz vanity tops, extensive millwork for the “Treehouse” area, acoustical panels and die-walls for meditation spaces, benches and upholstery, and numerous Corian-clad desks throughout the building.

ISEC’s VDC team performed detailed scanning of the steel structure, enabling precise modeling of the stair’s 35 intersecting planes. This process not only identified discrepancies between drawings and field conditions but also ensured an accurate release, minimized on-site adjustments, and delivered a seamless installation.
